Considering the crazy

giraffe
So I'm considering the crazy - attending Nationals in ABQ. And I'm thinking of driving there. It's under 30 hours, and cheaper than flying.

I will need at least 2 travel companions to drive with me from Delaware to New Mexico. Gas will only be about $100 per person if tehre are 3 of us, less if there are four. My car is air conditioned, gets great milage, and I have AAA.

I'm looking for people who know how to drive safely - PLEASE! Help me get to NPS!

Accomodation: friend of my grandmother's (hopefully!). Lovely people named Bill & Randi who make great food! Alternative: $20-$25 per night hostel
Cost: $100 for gas, food is on your own, $50 pass to entire event
Dates: August 9 - 14th (Tuesday thru Sunday, back at work by Monday)

In case you didn't get my other comment, my weekend filled up with homework. Shoot me, please. In other news, I wasn't invited to Mike's surprise Birthday party. Oh well, more time for me to study.

With round-trip tix to ABQ running between $200 - $300 depending on when you catch them.....it's actually not necessarily cheaper to drive. Flying is especially cheaper when you consider that if you fly, you have to take much less time off from work. If it's about thirty hours each way driving, you'll prolly miss an extra 3 days of work you wouldn't have to miss if you flew. 3 days of work would damn near pay for that plan ticket.

i was thinkign that too. southwest is probablly a good bet for a cheaper flight and gas prices lately- ouch. plus you have to think about food along the way and the weird expenses always accululated on the way- at least my road trips always have weird expenses, but thats probablyl besides the point.

And it's not cheaper to drive by myself. It's cheaper to drive straight w/ 2 or 3 other people.
